It’s not just adults that go through this. Teens often have relationships, and sometimes it’s not a good one. If your boyfriend or girlfriend does the following, you are likely in an abusive relationship:
- Bullies you and calls you names.
- Humiliate you at school and other public place.
- Acts extremely jealous of you.
- Constantly texting or calling you and gets mad if you don’t answer right away.
- Makes fun of your friends and family.
- He or she also criticizes how you look, your clothes and your interests.
- Tells you what to do, make you feel like a child.
- Forces you to do things you don’t want to do. This includes sex as well.
- Constantly makes empty threats to you, your family and friends.
- Makes you isolated from all of your friends and family so that they don’t get angry.
- Physically assault you or worse, sexually assault you.
These are signs of an abusive relationship. If you agreed with most or all of them, you are probably in one. You should never be ok being in an abusive relationship, it’s important to seek help as soon as you can.
